PLA Material (Plant-Based Plastic)

What is PLA?
PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a plastic made from plants — mainly corn starch or sugarcane — instead of petroleum.

Why it’s eco-friendly:
It’s compostable under industrial composting conditions and biodegradable. That means it can naturally break down without harming the environment.

PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a compostable bioplastic made from plant-based resources like corn starch.
It’s fully biodegradable in industrial composting facilities and reduces reliance on fossil fuels.
Ideal for cups, lids, and containers used with cold drinks or food items.

Where it’s used:

  • Cold drink cups & lids

  • Smoothie and juice packaging

  • Salad containers

Benefits:
✅ Made from renewable plants, not oil
✅ Reduces carbon footprint
✅ Clear and strong like regular plastic
✅ Safe for food contact

Good to know:
PLA is great for cold items, but not suitable for very hot liquids (it can soften above 45–50°C).
